Mine Sweep

The classic logic puzzle, without the frustrating coin-flip guesses. Every board can be solved with careful thinking.

How to play Mine Sweep

  1. Goal: open every square that doesn’t hide a mine.
  2. Tap a square to open it. Your first tap is always safe.
  3. Read the numbers: each number tells you how many mines touch that square, including diagonals.
  4. Flag mines: turn on Flag mode, or right-click or long-press, to mark a square you think hides a mine.
  5. No guessing needed: every board is checked so it can be solved with logic alone.

Tips

  • Start with the 1s next to a single unopened square: that square must be a mine.
  • If a number already touches enough flags, the rest of its neighbors are safe.
  • Look for 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 patterns along edges.
  • Use flags to keep track of what you know.

Questions

What does “no guessing” mean?

Before you play, the game checks that the board can be solved step by step with logic, so you’re never forced to guess.

Which size should I pick?

Easy (9×9) is great to start. Medium (12×12) and Hard (16×16) add more mines and more thinking.

How do I flag on a phone?

Turn on Flag mode with the flag button, or press and hold a square.
