How to play Mahjong Voyage
- Goal: remove every tile from the board by matching pairs.
- Tap two matching tiles to remove them. Tiles match when they show the same symbol and color.
- Free tiles only: a tile can be picked when nothing sits on top of it and its left or right side is open. Blocked tiles look slightly darker.
- Clear the board to travel to the next city on your voyage.
- Stuck? Use a hint to see a pair, or shuffle the remaining tiles.
Tips
- Work from the top layers and the long rows first: they block the most tiles.
- When you see three matching tiles, pick the pair that frees up more tiles.
- Clear the ends of long rows early so the middle tiles open up.
- Take your time. There’s no timer in Mahjong Voyage.

Is every board solvable?
Yes. Every board in Mahjong Voyage is generated so that it can be solved when tiles are removed in the right order.
What makes a tile “free”?
A tile is free when no tile is stacked on top of it and at least one side, left or right, is open.
Is this the same as four-player Mahjong?
No. This is Mahjong Solitaire, a single-player matching puzzle that uses Mahjong-style tiles.
